Salary / Stipend

Pay Level 6 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix; initial basic pay Rs. 35,400 per month plus admissible allowances.

Eligibility and Medical Notes

Applicants need a bachelor’s-level degree or an equivalent recognized qualification, which must be completed by the closing date. Candidates still awaiting final results do not qualify. The post requires the A-2 medical category, with set distant and near vision standards that must be met without corrective lenses. Candidates who have had LASIK or other refractive-error surgery are excluded under the notice’s conditions.

Examination and Selection Details

The CBT has 100 objective questions worth 100 marks, to be answered in 120 minutes, with one-third of a mark deducted for each wrong answer. Minimum CBT qualifying percentages are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL and SC, and 25% for ST. CBAT shortlisting is generally eight times the RRB-wise vacancies, and document verification is generally one to one. The CBAT requires a T-score of at least 42 in every battery, with no category relaxation.

Documents and Application Rules

The live photograph must be captured through a webcam or phone camera against a plain white background. The signature must be a JPG or JPEG file of 30 to 49 KB. Applicants may choose only one RRB, and that choice cannot be changed later. Corrections are allowed from 28 November to 7 December 2026 for a non-refundable Rs. 250 fee per occasion.

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 questions, 100 marks, 120 minutes, 70% merit weight
  2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): minimum T-score 42 in each battery, 30% merit weight

  3. From 27 October 2026, open the application portal at rrbapply.gov.in
  4. Create an account or sign in with existing RRB credentials
  5. Enter personal details, complete account authentication and provide qualification and category details
  6. Select one RRB and the zone preferences offered by it
  7. Capture a live photograph and upload signature and supporting documents
  8. Review all details, submit the form and pay the fee by 27 November 2026
  9. Save or print the confirmation and payment receipt
