Salary / Stipend

Journeyman stipend Rs. 24,000 in year one and Rs. 26,000 in year two; Driver (Vehicle) pay scale Rs. 20,110 to Rs. 70,390.

Exam and Shortlisting

The written test is an offline OMR paper of 100 questions worth 100 marks, lasting two hours, in English and Hindi, with centres in Kolkata and Ranchi. Journeyman candidates need 50% (general), 45% (SC, ST or OBC) or 40% (PwBD). Driver candidates need 40% (general), 35% (OBC) or 30% (PwBD). The practical test carries 50 marks, and about five candidates will be shortlisted for each opening.

Eligibility Limits and Absorption

Candidates holding higher professional degrees such as engineering, MBA, CA or Ph.D. are excluded. All qualifications must be disclosed, and concealment can lead to cancellation even after appointment. Journeyman training lasts two years, and absorption into the Semi-Skilled grade is possible but not guaranteed.
